Just retired so we are off to Disney World in April. Can anyone recommend a good RV campground in the Orlando area? Joe

Try Fort Wilderness at Disney. We really enjoyed it. The bus transportation is great, no car parking fees.

Tropical Palms in Kissimmee is very good and very close. Parking at Disney will cost you $9 per day, add that to the camping price for a comparison to Ft. Wilderness.

Yes Ft. Wilderness is right on the Disney grounds. The nice thing is you can get busses from near your door to the front gate of the attraction you are visiting at no cost. This also saves you $9/day parking in their lot. If you can choose the time you visit, stay away from the busy times such as Christmas and spring breaks. To get information and make reservations do what Mike suggests.

While Fort Wilderness is rated one of the top CG's in US and provides some "disney magic", I've heard the bus system takes a while to get out of the campground, and probably longer than if you parked at the main parking lot and took buses from there. Then again, each park takes a full day to see, so you are only talking one bus trip each way per day, but that time could be over a half hour each way.
Might be a one week discount at any CG in the area, and it takes at least that to see all the attractions just at DisneyWorld!

When we stayed at Fort Wilderness we used the boat to go back and forth.The tram runs around the campground to the dock.The only complaint we had was the site was so narrow we couldn't open our awning cause of a tree.And that was on a 24' trailer.

Can anybody tell me what kind of internet service if any is available at Camp Wilderness at Disneyworld? I am hoping they have a wireless system available.

They have a few phone jacks in the campground office. No charge.I stayed there for 9 days last year. The busses and boats are great. Takes a day to understand how they work but they are all free.
