I was told that if you leave your diesel vehicle sittting for long period of time that alge can build up in the fuel tank and if it does you got troubles. Does any one know about this or is their an aditive that can be added to stop this build up?
Thanks

What yoiu were told is true. Go to a marine store such as West Marine and they will have a couple of different brands.

Stores like West Marine do carry diesel additives, but you'll find them a LOT more expensive than simply picking some up at Wal*Mart, KMart, Kragens, etc.

Information about STA-BIL, one of the most popular such products, may be found at
http://www.goldeagle.com/sta-bil/

The need for a fuel stabilizer depends a great deal upon the weather in your area and you may not need one at all.

Adding some to your RV, diesel or gas, when it's stored for the winter couldn't hurt though.
