Hello, I have a 2005 30FT Keystone Outback travel trailer that I bought used in August. I am new to RV'ing. I bought a Directv dish and tripod to use while camping primarily to watch football. I use my Directv receiver from my house. When I hook up the dish to the cable outlet on the outside of the trailer and the receiver to the cable outlet on the inside of the trailer I do not get a signal. But when I hook up directly from the dish to the receiver I can get a signal. This leads me to believe there is something wrong with the trailer cable, but what? Both cable outlets in the trailer do not get a signal. I know I can run the cable from the dish to the receiver through a window or something but would rather not. Any help is appreciated!

Scott: Do you have the bat wing TV antenna on the roof? If so, some wherethere is probably a RF amplifier in the circuit. Normally can be I.D. by a red light on it. If so, turn it off with the on/off switch and try your cable system again.

If your Antenna System is as Marty suggested, then there is a blocking diode in th amplifier power supply to block any voltage going the wrong direction in th coax line. This prevents the 16vdc control voltage from your DirecTV receiver going down the coax line to the dish. This is installed to keep the 12vdc from the amplifier power supply going into a cable system at an RV park. So as a safety feature for a cable system it prevents you from using the built in coax for DirecTV use. There is a work around but it is too lengthy to go into on this WEB site.

Also look for a splitter in the lines. On my Dish system, them LMB's need 12 volts to operate.

I had the same situation with My PROWLER 28X.. And You will probably have to Run a Separate Coax to the Receiver, I Did, Only way Icould get it to Work Correctly, Larry
