Everything on the heater/thermostat says Coleman. The heater model number is 4312 and the thermostat has Coleman part number 4312-322, 12vdc and W-R1D30-358, class 2. This is a 1978 pop-up. The heater is working fine, or seems to be, but the cover supports for the thermostat cover are broken and it won't stay on the base. I just want to find a new stat.

You should be able to find a replacement at a hardware/ home center type place. The most common is a White Rodgers model 7200. The main thing to look for is mechanical contacts, rather than a mercury switch (which needs leveling).
A lot of people have installed a Hunter electronic thermostat from a major discounter- not too expensive, but might be overkill for furnace only

The main other thing to look for (other than no mercury switch- or "no leveling required") is that it will work on 24 volt *or* millivolt systems.
